Delegation Is Not A Dirty Word!

Aug 20, 2025

So, you’ve started a business, and you’ve been doing everything yourself.

This is pretty normal...

You’re struggling with the immense workload, but you don’t trust anyone else to do it for you, right?

This is also pretty normal...

- It’ll be faster if you do it.

- You’re too busy to train someone else.

- You know it’s done properly, without mistakes, if you do it.

- It’s cheaper if you just do it yourself, rather than hire someone else.

These are the things that small business owners tell themselves, do they sound familiar to you?

Hear me out.

Your business won’t grow if you can’t delegate.

There is simply not enough time in the day for you to do everything.

I know the thought of handing over any part of your duties sounds impossible, but let’s face it; If you delegate, you can spend more time on the things that actually need your attention, and less on things that could easily be done by someone else.

Sure, if you had the time, doing everything yourself sounds great. But you don’t. Things get pushed back, sometimes forgotten altogether. You end up taking work home with you. This business that was going to be life-changing has instead just become your entire life.

You need to let go of the reins a little, so your business can grow.

Realistically, trying to do everything yourself is not healthy, you’re just on track to burning yourself out. It sounds great on paper, but it’s not practical. You will start failing, then the business will start failing.

Delegating is a bit of a skill, but the good news is that it's a skill that can be learned. It means seeing what other people’s strengths are and utilising them.

Put down some of the bags, let them help. I bet you’ll see a drastic improvement.
